Prime Minister hosted Nordic summit with Germany’s Federal Chancellor

SWEDEN, May 13 - The summit began with the Nordic heads of government discussing Nordic competitiveness with representatives of each country’s business sector. It concluded with the countries signing a joint declaration to facilitate Nordic competitiveness, growth and increased security.

Later that day, Mr Scholz joined the summit and the heads of government visited Ericsson in Kista. Following a tour, they held talks on security issues such as hybrid threats, civil preparedness and new technologies.

“It’s crucial that Sweden and Europe step up their efforts to secure future infrastructure and ensure that both the scientific community and business sector are given the right opportunities. As regards hybrid threats and issues concerning our civilian resilience, I greatly value today’s discussions, which demonstrated considerable consensus on our common challenges and the path forward,” says Mr Kristersson.

At the end of the day, a joint press conference was held with the heads of government from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland and Germany. During dinner that evening, they discussed continued support to Ukraine and NATO issues.
