Councilmember Evan Glass Announces Sixth Annual LGBTQ+ Pride in Montgomery County
MARYLAND, April 6 - For Immediate Release: Tuesday, June 4, 2024
From the Office of Councilmember Evan Glass
Councilmember Evan Glass (At-Large) announced a series of LGBTQ+ Pride Month events throughout the month of June. Events include a Pride flag raising outside the Executive Office Building in Rockville, Pride Family Day at Glen Echo Park and a mixer at the Olney Theatre Center. There are events for the whole family and for residents throughout Montgomery County.
“As hate and violence are on the rise nationwide, we must further embrace our diversity in Montgomery County. Now is the time to come together and uplift our community. I’m glad to host Montgomery County’s sixth annual LGBTQ+ Pride month event series,” said Councilmember Glass. “This is a time for celebration, reflection and unity. While the LGBTQ+ community is more represented in government, media and popular culture than ever before, this newfound visibility has occurred alongside an increase in efforts to undermine human rights — especially those of trans people and people of color. As we continue our struggle for greater civil rights and liberties, Pride Month is a time to not only reflect on our progress but to focus on the work ahead.”
