CORAL GABLES, FL, UNITED STATES, April 13, 2023/EINPresswire.com/ -- Coral Gables Museum is thrilled to announce the opening of "Evoking Places" in the Robert D. and Eleanor C. Zahner Center, a children’s exhibition showcasing 56 creative interpretations of natural landscapes and imaginative places. The exhibition, developed in collaboration with IMAGO x Las Artes and supported by the VoLo Foundation, features works from IMAGO x Las Artes’s Fourth Edition of the Children's Illustrator Contest.

This exhibition provides an opportunity to explore and appreciate a wide range of artistic techniques and styles by children ages four to twelve years old. Mixed media art combines different materials and techniques, such as painting, drawing, and collage, to create unique and dynamic artworks that can be visually stunning and intellectually engaging. "Evoking Places" and the illustration contest this work stemmed from provided the children a space to express their creativity and passion for the environment.

"We are proud to provide a platform for these young artists to share their unique perspectives with our community. By featuring their landscape illustrations, we are reminded of the beauty and diversity of our environment and the importance of preserving it for future generations,” said Gianna Riccardi, the Museum's Director of Education and Public Programs. "By showcasing the work of children, we can highlight the value of art education in promoting creativity, self-expression, and personal growth.”

"Evoking Places" runs at the Coral Gables Museum from April 15th to June 30th, 2023. Admission is free for Museum Members, $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and students with ID, and $5 for children ages 6-12. Join us in celebrating the natural beauty and diverse landscapes that make our world so special!
