DTE Energy Launches Energy Efficiency Product
DTE Energy has teamed with Sterling Planet to create a pilot program for the creation and sale of Energy Optimization Credits (EOCs), known as White Tags. Each EOC represents 1 megawatt-hour (MWh) of measurable and verifiable energy efficient projects or actions that reduce electricity use at facilities served by DTE Energy. DTE Energy will purchase up to 25,000 EOCs from electricity savings and up to 100,000 EOCs from natural gas savings from commercial and industrial customers over the next two years of the pilot program. All EOCs will be measured and validated by Sterling Planet.
DTE will use the EOCs to help meet Michigan energy efficiency mandates.
