ADOT reopens I-10 ramps at Watson Road for Super Bowl week

The opening of the eastbound I-10 on- and off-ramps at Watson Road in Buckeye this week has restored direct access to and from one of the city’s busiest shopping and business areas, including hotels where Super Bowl visitors are staying this week.

The reopened ramps also will help with access to the city’s annual Buckeye Airfair the weekend of Feb. 17-19.

The eastbound I-10 ramps at Watson Road were closed for a month as reconstruction work took place. Crews are continuing construction that will turn the I-10/Watson Road connections into a diverging diamond interchange. Crews were able to open the ramps early Monday (Feb. 6).

The ongoing $82 million project to widen I-10 to three lanes in both directions between Verrado Way and State Route 85 started in July 2021. The entire project is scheduled for completion in summer 2023.

Real-time highway conditions are available on ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site at az511.gov and by calling 511. Information about highway conditions also is available through ADOT’s Twitter feed, @ArizonaDOT
