Green Markets: E&E Gets 5-Year Ecosystem Restoration Contract
May 10, 2010 (FinancialWire) — Ecology and Environment, Inc. (NASDAQ: EEI) has been awarded a five-year, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a ceiling of $12 million for ecosystem restoration and environmental consulting services by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Buffalo District.
Work will be performed primarily as part of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative within USACE's Buffalo, Chicago, and Detroit Districts but could also include services throughout USACE's Great Lakes and Ohio River Division boundaries.
The scope of services comprises a variety of activities aimed to protect and restore the Great Lakes ecosystem, such as water and sediment quality studies, contaminated sediment remediation, ecological restoration, watershed planning, and invasive species control and management. Other services in support of GLRI or related Civil Works projects may also be assigned, such as writing NEPA documents, conducting environmental impact analysis, cultural resource/archaeological investigations, and impact analysis, and developing wetland/stream design for mitigation. Work will be managed from E & E's Buffalo headquarters with key support from other Great Lakes regional offices.
