Mobile Games Developers Score Over 60,000 Downloads Within Days Of Free Games Portal Launch
Feb 15, 2010 (PRN): Mobile Games Developers worldwide are gearing up for the full launch of Djuzz (m.djuzz.com), BuzzCity’s new games and entertainment portal. The portal, which provides free downloads of mobile games and applications to users, is set to become an important tool for mobile developers to test new products and gain traction in key markets. Hosting games and applications within the portal is free for both the developers, and users.
With over 1,000 games and applications already listed on the site from top mobile developers worldwide, and many more in the pipeline, Djuzz has already proven itself as a popular destination for mobile gamers. Titles already listed on the site include ‘Tomb Raider’, ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks’, ‘Tony Hawk’, ‘Garfield’, ‘Jodie Marsh’, ‘Power Babe’ and ‘Ali the Penguin’. The Alpha version launched on 17 December 2009, and the first trial period generated over 59,000 downloads.
Currently, Djuzz contains 28 categories of applications for download. The majority of the applications available are mobile games, but there are also lifestyle and travel applications, multilingual dictionaries, time-zone converters and various tools to help commuters navigate their local cities.
“The Djuzz portal is a fantastic initiative in bringing global exposure to our game titles and thus assisting us in monetising our content,” says Mark van Diggelen, CEO of SkillPod Media. “Djuzz allows us to leave the marketing to the experts,” he adds, “giving us the opportunity to focus on the development of new game titles.”
Djuzz provides a search-centric approach to delivering content, supported by directory-type listings. This makes it quick and easy for users to find and download content. Several modules are available to help users with hassle-free navigation such as search, categorization, content tagging and quick-listing of high traffic pages.
“We have noticed that mobile consumers want and are expecting more as technology continues to advance, so BuzzCity is adapting to the needs and wants of mobile consumers worldwide. Whilst the demand for free content is increasing, the willingness to purchase quality items online is also on the rise; we have ensured that Djuzz offers both options. Furthermore, we are trying to combat the issues developers face by making Djuzz a cheaper option – usually content developers and publishers face high distribution costs, particularly when trying to gain access in emerging markets” states KF Lai, CEO of BuzzCity.
With strong distribution networks in over 200 countries, BuzzCity is able to connect developers to mobile consumers across the globe easily. With the launch of Djuzz, BuzzCity is to run co-branded campaigns with developer partners. The new portal offers a no-cost no-revenue-share business opportunity for content developers.
