July 24, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Cardinal Health, Inc. (NYSE: CAH) has appointed Patricia Morrison as its chief information officer, effective August 3. She previously served as CIO at Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT).

Morrison’s previous experience also includes roles as CIO of Office Depot (NYSE: ODP), and senior information technology positions at General Electric (NYSE: GE), PepsiCo (NYSE: PEP), Procter & Gamble and Quaker Oats.

She is replacing Jody Davids as Cardinal Health CIO.

As CIO at Cardinal, Morrison will be responsible for the company’s enterprise-wide information technology infrastructure. She will report to George Barrett, who will become chairman and chief executive officer of Cardinal Health following the planned spinoff of its clinical and medical products businesses.

Dublin, Ohio-based Cardinal Health offers technologies including Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis automated dispensing and patient identification systems, MedMined electronic infection surveillance service and Viasys respiratory care products.

The company also manufactures medical and surgical products and is a distributor of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
