Morgan Named Chairman Of Plum Creek Timber

May 7, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Plum Creek Timber Co., Inc.’s (NYSE: PCL) board has elected John F. Morgan Sr. as its chairman. Morgan will replace Ian B. Davidson, who is retiring from the board.

Morgan owns and manages Morgan Timber, a private timberland and real estate management and development company. He previously held positions in general banking and public securities investment management with First Orlando Corp. and Citizens & Southern Corp., and later helped found Invesco Capital Management.

He has served as a director of Plum Creek since November 2006.

Davidson served on Plum Creek’s board since 1989 and as its chairman since 2005.

Seattle-based Plum Creek owns around seven million acres of timberlands in timber producing regions of the United States. It also owns wood products manufacturing facilities in the Northwest.
