Raytheon Wins $115 Million For Patriot Missile Upgrades
May 6, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Raytheon Co. (NYSE: RTN) has been awarded a new contract worth $115 million to continue “pure fleet” upgrades of U.S. Army’s Patriot air and missile defense systems.
Under the award, Raytheon will upgrade four U.S. Army Patriot systems to configuration-3 status. The upgrades involve enhancements to Patriot system ground components, particularly the radar.
Raytheon is the prime contractor for both domestic and international Patriot systems and systems integrator for Patriot advanced capability-3 missiles.
Waltham, Massachusetts-based Raytheon specializes in defense, homeland security and other government markets. The company employs 73,000 people worldwide.
