MPLA leader reaffirms crusade against corruption
"Some among us insist on criticizing our determination, even foreshadowing a possible failure according to them, ignoring deliberately and consciously that this was one of the main flags of the program that the MPLA submitted to the ballot," he said.
João Lourenço noted that, by not voluntarily taking advantage of the six-month grace period generously offered under the Capital Repatriation Law, some have now chosen to create and disseminate the idea that the crusade against corruption is weakening the party and may even lead to its division.
The MPLA leader spoke at the opening ceremony of the VII Ordinary Session of the MPLA Central Committee, which, among others, aims to convene the VII Extraordinary Congress of the Party.
João Lourenço stated that he intends a Central Committee reinforced with straightforward militants, with young cadres committed to the ongoing reforms in the country.
Joao Lourenço who is also the President of the Republic recalled that the Government has introduced the legislative package in the National Assembly and waits for the debate and approval of the legal documents submitted, so that it can carry out subsequent acts until the convening of the local elections.
