Luanda, ANGOLA, February 3 - The preparation for the implementation of the municipal elections and consolidation of state reforms in the area of central and local administration as well as in the justice sector are priority tasks for the political agenda of the governing MPLA in 2019, launched Saturday in Luanda at a gathering chaired by the party's vice president, Luísa Damião.,

To tackle these challenges, Luísa Damião, who was presenting the programme during a mass rally, reaffirmed that it is necessary to adequately prepare the party structures and the militants to contest and win the local elections.

The politician went on to say that her party will permanently promote and ensure good governance, socialization and the approximation of public services to citizens, companies and institutions, investing on a judicial system that is faster and more and more committed to justice, ethics, the encouragement and support for the process of revitalization and revitalization of the judicial system.

She also said that the MPLA will continue to promote dialogue aiming for a society that is ever more just, supportive, inclusive, responsible and focused on the culture of peace and on education and citizenship.

Luísa Damião ensured continued support and encouragement for the growth and dynamism of associations and other forms of organization of the civil society as important partners of the state.

She called for greater appreciation of trade unions and professional associations, encouraging them to continue to express opinions on a wide range of issues of interest to the State and society.

 

Families and churches are also part of the party's programme and will therefore continue to be encouraged to play an increasingly active role in the transmission of values ??that promote peace, brotherhood and harmony among Angolans.

In this way, the MPLA will continue to promote a comprehensive programme to retrieve good civic, moral and patriotic habits and values and respect for public assets, involving party structures, militants and other civil society organizations.

After considering communication as one of the means for strengthening democracy, Luísa Damião advocated better understanding of the ICT phenomenon to improve the interaction with society.

 

The MPLA wants to disseminate and defend its main positions in the political, economic and social context and define a new strategy for the functioning of the party's digital platforms, always aiming for greater interaction with the people, promoting studies and training for the correct use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).   Internally, the MPLA intends to intensify the work of revitalizing grassroots organizations and to improve the political training of the leaders, cadres and militants of the party.

 

Luísa Dmião reconfirmed this year's convening of an Extraordinary Congress, with the aim of adapting the party's structures to the new political, economic, social and cultural challenges.
