Angola, Norway in line with viewpoints

ANGOLA, December 3 - During the meeting in Luanda, the two countries expressed their satisfaction with the results of the last meeting on political consultations at ministerial level held last June in Oslo, Norway.

In the final communiqué of the closed doors meeting both dignitaries recognized the progress made in the existing cooperation and pledged to reinforce it, respecting the territorial integrity of Angola and Norway.

As part of a few hours’ visit to Angola, Erna Solberg invited President João Lourenço to pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Norway, on a date to be settled through diplomatic channels.

The parties, which have reviewed bilateral cooperation, considered their diversification important, since it remains very much focused on the oil and gas sector.

According to the document, the Norwegian prime minister expressed satisfaction with the efforts made by the Angolan Government to provide a more attractive business environment that could facilitate the mobilization of foreign companies and the promotion of international investment.

"Erna Solberg highlighted the fact that her country was selected to benefit from the exemption of entry visas into Angola," adding the joint statement to which Angop had access. Angola and Norway defended in the communiqué the commitment to peace, international security, promotion of free trade and environmental sustainability.

This initiative underpins the fact that the sustainable use of the oceans and the maintenance of good environmental status can lead to significant value creation and capacity building to meet some of the world's most vital needs in the future.
