UK confirms funding to Angola

Luanda, ANGOLA, November 8 - The British Baroness Lindsay Northover confirmed Thursday her country's availability to fund projects in the energy and health sectors for Angola. ,

 

Lindsay Northover, a Prime minister Theresa May’s special envoy, said that the funding will be spent on  the projects with 20 percent of British content but of priorities for the Angolan government.

 

In her statement to the press at the end of an audience granted by President, João Lourenço, the British official did not disclose the amount to be spent.

 

Baroness and the UK Export Finance (UKEF) will hold meetings with the heads of Ministries of Health, Energy and Water, Transport, Finance, Mineral Resources and Oil to discuss the UK methods to support for investment projects.

 

The United Kingdom intends to offer assistance and expertise to Angola, with stress to financial, infrastructure and sustainable energy areas.

 

This is her ninth visit to Angola since 2016, aimed at increasing beneficial trade relations.
