Angola available to work with UNESCO - President

Paris, ANGOLA, May 28 - Angolan head of State João Lourenço reaffirmed Monday the country’s interest in continuing working with UNESCO in programmes related to the fields of Education, Culture and Science to serve the country and humanity. ,

 

The President stated this in the book of the honour during his visit to the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France.

 

At the meeting with the institution's Director-General Audrey Azoulay, João Lourençuo underlined that this fact enhances the Angolan people, as the Mbanza Kongo city, northern Zaire province, was the capital of the Kingdom of Congo.

 

"During our visit to the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, we would like to thank the organisation for its efforts to elevate the Angolan city of Mbanza Kongo as a historical and cultural heritage of humanity," wrote João Lourenço.

 

After visiting the exhibition on the achievements of the organisation in Angola, the President traveled to the Polytechnic School.

 

João Lourenço’s visiting agenda includes meeting with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.

 

The two Statesmen are to sign several cooperation agreements.
