The Tazovskoye field is located 500 kilometres north—east of Salekhard. As at 1 January 2016, recoverable oil reserves at the field as recorded in the State Register of Mineral Reserves stand at 72 million tonnes, condensate at 4.6 million tonnes, and non-associated gas at 183.3 billion cubic metres.
Gazprom Neft builds first production well at the Tazovskoye field, Yamalo-Nenetsk Autonomous Okrug
Gazprom Neft subsidiary Gazpromneft-Razvitiye has completed construction of the first production well since obtaining its licence for the Tazovskoye field. The total length of the new high-tech well runs to 3.9 kilometres, 1.9 kilometres of this comprising the horizontal section.
Initial production at the well is in excess of 100 tonnes per day. Data obtained as a result of drilling has allowed the geological model for the Tazovsky field to be clarified, and the development strategy for this asset adjusted — specifically in reducing the timeframe for developing the field, and in increasing potential hydrocarbon production.
In its capacity as operator for field development Gazprom Neft re-tested two wells at the Tazovskoye field in 2017.
Denis Sugaipov, CEO, Gazpromneft-Razvitiye and Head of Gazprom Neft’s Major Projects Directorate, commented: “Gazprom Neft is continuing its proactive development of a new production cluster in a key region for the company — the Yamalo-Nenetsk Autonomous Okrug. The development of oil-leg reservoirs in the Tazovsky and Achimovsky strata at the Severo-Samburgsky block (the licence for which the company acquired from Gazprom in 2017) is of dual significance for us: in utilising cutting-edge production technologies we can make sure Yamal’s precious natural resources are utilised as efficiently as possible, while, moreover, gaining valuable experience in working with hard-to-recover reserves.”
