Unita president defends strict measures on alcohol sale

Cuito, ANGOLA, January 6 - The president of the opposition Unita party, Isaías Samakuva, last Thursday in Cuito City, central Bie Province, defended the reinforcement of measures turned to the control of the sale of alcoholic beverages and other drugs, aimed at combating several ills that affect the families. ,

The leader of the country’s largest opposition party defended such stance after a gathering with militants of his political organisation in Cunje locality, outskirts of Cuito, having manifested his indignation with the posture of many young people who heavy users of alcoholic drinks and other drugs.     

 

He appealed to the Executive to adopt stricter measures in terms of the acquisition of alcoholic drinks and drugs as a way to preserve the youth and save them from eventual destruction.

 

In his opinion, it is necessary that the families help the State to moralise the youth and stimulate them to get involved in academic and vocational training courses, so that they can better contribute to the xcountry’s reconstruction and development process.  

 

During his stay in Bie, Isaías Samakuva is to be received in an audience by the provincial governor, Álvaro Manuel de Boavida Neto, among other activities.
