National Assembly elects Constitutional Court judges

Luanda, ANGOLA, November 18 - Angolan Parliament Friday approved the election of Counselor Guilhermina Prata to the post of deputy chief of justice of Constitutional Court. ,

 

The MPs also elected Maria da Conceição Sango and Alberto Uaca to the post of Counselor Judges, both handpicked by the main opposition UNITA party.

 

Maria da Conceição Sango and Alberto Uaca  took over from Luzia de Almeida Sebastião and Maria Imaculada Melo, who ended their term.

 

The Constitutional Court comprises 11 Counselor Judges. Four of whom are appointed by the President of the Republic.

 

The Constitutional Court Judges are appointed for a non-renewable seven-year term.
