Gazprom and Federal Institute of Industrial Property to cooperate for innovations

Oleg Aksyutin, Member of the Management Committee, Head of Department of Gazprom, and Yury Zubov, Director of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS), today signed a Cooperation Agreement at the 7th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum.
According to the document, the parties will collaborate in the field of R&D and provide expert and analytical support for the purposes of the Gazprom Innovative Development Program. Among other things, the companies will apply the analytical tools of the FIPS in the area of intellectual property to monitor the potential of innovative projects, R&D, and design efforts in Russia and abroad.
The parties will also work together to stimulate the staff of the Company and its subsidiaries in their innovative endeavors, as well as to create intellectual property and ensure its legal protection.
Background
The 7th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum is being held as part of the Energy Efficiency and Energy Development International Forum 'Russian Energy Week.'
The Federal Institute of Industrial Property is an organization of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent). The organization provides legal protection for the results of intellectual activity and means of individualization, as well as in the areas of science and sci-tech policies.
