In the 2016 election cycle, Ambassador Bolton raised $12.5 million. He endorsed 94 candidates and the John Bolton PAC contributed nearly $680,000, making it the most active leadership PAC in the country. Additionally, the John Bolton SuperPAC spent a total of nearly $5 million for independent expenditures (IE) in support of Senate candidates in key battleground states. The IEs were used to develop and distribute innovative, digital online and TV ads that were personality-targeted in battleground states, and released in five different personality-tones to reflect the varying demographics.
