The PowerFLOW Solution Forum is a one-day conference where leading automotive, off-road vehicle and other ground transportation industry manufacturers and suppliers from around the world meet to discuss the latest innovations and developments in simulation-driven design, elaborating on how Exa's suite of simulation tools has played a vital role in their respective product development processes.

This year’s keynote speaker, Mr. Munehiko Oshima, Expert Leader of Advanced Vehicle Performance at Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., will present his company’s future plans for automotive aerodynamics and performance development. Other guest speakers include Mr. Yuji Kodama of Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd., who will discuss the company’s recent implementation of special tire fin patterns to reduce aerodynamic drag, adapted within Exa’s PowerFLOW simulation software.

Mr. Fang ZhiYun of Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co. Ltd., will present his team’s use of PowerFLOW to simulate flow fields in HVAC systems, and how the results allowed for intricate enhancements to their design. Mr. Kenichi Hano of Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. Ltd., will offer insights into the application of PowerFLOW and ExaCLOUD® within construction machinery development. Mr. Tsuyoshi Kanuma at Calsonic Kansei Corp. will present their digital development approach at Calsonic Kansei.  Mr. Yukio Shidara at Denso Corporation, will discuss the company’s use of simulation software to optimize thermal performance and create cooling solutions for its products.

Exa Corporation will be represented by Mr. Jean-Paul Roux, President of European Operations at Exa, who will share insight into the growing number of OEMs around the world that utilize simulation software as a means of meeting stricter emissions regulations. Joining Mr. Roux from Exa will be Hiroshi Narita, Technical Director at Exa Japan, who will present on the progression of aerodynamic optimization through simulation software over the past 15 years, and how Exa continues to help clients reach new standards of aerodynamic efficiency and achieve industry-best drag coefficients.

"PowerFLOW and its suite of specialized modules offers key solutions to a vast range of vehicle design challenges, and has become an important part of many global automotive and other ground transportation manufacturers’ development processes over the past decade. With the exponential growth of computer-aided technology during this period, the potential of simulation tools and what they can offer customers has been completely reimagined. The type of insight that our speakers share at the PowerFLOW Solution Forum illustrates the continuous and exciting developments within simulation-driven design, and we look forward to being part of the next wave of innovations,” commented Exa Japan President, Kazuhito Ishikawa.
