King Mohammed VI Visits Morocco’s Consulate General in Paris

On the occasion of his official visit to France, HM King Mohammed VI on Tuesday, February 23, visited Morocco’s Consulate General in Paris to enquire about the measures taken to improve the quality of services offered to Moroccans abroad and the working conditions of the staff.

 

Upon his arrival, the King was welcomed by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar, Minister in charge of Moroccans Living Abroad, Anis Birou, and Morocco’s Ambassador to France, Chakib Benmoussa, and the kingdom’s Consul General in Orly, Malika Alaoui.

 

After being greeted by the sixteen Consuls General of the Kingdom in France and other Moroccan officials, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Salaheddine Mezouar presented to the Monarch the ongoing action plan and projects at the central administrations and in the consular network.

 

These actions include notably the improvement of the conditions of reception and information, the simplification and modernization of consular services, cultural and social actions, and upgrading human resources. 

 

The Sovereign also held a meeting with representatives of the Moroccan community who expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the King for his personal interest in providing them better access to consular services.

 

All of these improvements follow on from a speech given last year on the occasion of Throne Day in which the King had expressed his keen interest in the situation of Moroccan citizens living abroad, urging the Minister of Foreign Affairs to take firm action to ensure the efficiency of Moroccan’s consular services.
