Plymouth Dentist to Visit Local Schools for Children's Health Month

PLYMOUTH, MI--(Marketwired - January 29, 2016) - Plymouth Dentistry, a top family dental office, will visit local preschools and elementary schools in observance of February being National Children's Dental Health Month.

/EINPresswire.com/ -- The entire month of February is dedicated to teaching children the importance of great oral health and routine trips to the dentist. The theme of this year's program is "Sugar Wars" in an effort to teach children the dangers of sugary treats and to encourage kids to select healthy snack options.

"Going to schools and educating the children is a great place to start developing good habits with healthy eating and brushing," said Dr. Gary Feucht, who operates Plymouth Dentistry.

Dental disease is the leading chronic disease in children and is five times more common than asthma. Tooth decay affects three out five children in America and can lead to dental emergencies and days off school.

Plymouth Dentistry regularly works with schools and local organizations to educate children about their oral health. The office has a giant tooth mascot, "Mr Chuckles," that joins the staff during community outings. "Mr Chuckles" teaches children the proper way to brush and floss their teeth. During the events, each child receives a goodie bag with a timer for brushing, new toothbrush, and toothpaste.

"The children love brushing the giant tooth and enjoy playing with all the dental tools we use in the office," Dr. Feucht said. "By spending time with children outside the office, we can help take away fear commonly associated with the dentist."

Plymouth Dentistry offers comprehensive services in general dentistry, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics and TMJ treatment. Dr. Feucht also works closely with a surgeon to provide durable and long-lasting dental implants for patients with missing teeth. His Plymouth dental practice uses the latest technology, including digital X-rays; soft-tissue lasers; digital panorex; DIAGNOdent to detect tiny cavities; intraoral cameras; and computer monitors in every operatory for patient education. The staff offers comfortable patient amenities and routinely takes patients' blood pressure during visits.

Plymouth Dentistry uses in-office whitening treatments to brighten teeth in as little as 30 minutes. Dr. Feucht also offers a Whitening for Life program. When patients receive Dr. Feucht's whitening treatment, they can have free touch-ups for life as long as they keep their regular dental cleanings and have been a patient of Plymouth Dentistry for 18 months or longer.

Dr. Feucht, who has been in practice for more than 35 years, graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1978 and started his own practice in 1983. Dr. Feucht is a member of the local Chamber of Commerce and regularly participates in health fairs, community events and kids' programs at local schools. Some of Dr. Feucht's dental hygienists and staff members have been with his practice for more than two decades.
