Min Dai, the producer behind the films "Meeting Gary," and "One True Yarn," prepares to bring the new series "Tina" and "Twice Married Brother" to the screen.

LOS ANGELES, CA, USA, September 15, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Over the years producer Min Dai has doted her unparalleled talents as a producer to countless multi-award winning films and documentaries, and as her international reputation for success has continued to grow so has the breadth of projects she takes on.

Dai is currently working as the producer of the upcoming shows "Twice Married Brother" and "Tina," two projects that will offer audiences a new take on the drama and comedy genres.

"Tina," which is slated to begin filming next year, will be directed by Wilson Becton. He says, "[Min Dai] and I have solidified a productive working relationship and she is indispensable to the completion of my current and future projects"

Dai previously worked as the producer Becton's film "One True Yarn," which screened at Brooklyn Film Fest, as well as "Emily and the Lightning."

The upcoming series "Tina" will follow a 30-something professional woman working at a talent agency in Los Angeles.

Dai says, "We are planning to cast a male lead to portray the character of Tina, and with that idea as a cornerstone of the show we are aiming to create a new style of drama."

Dai's other upcoming series "Twice Married Brother," will feature the show's creator Carl Gilliard, who is known for his roles in the films "Inception," "Red Eye," "Coach Carter" and "The Mannsfield 12." The series is based on Giliard's YouTube series that already exist, and the title may change before it comes to the screen next year.

According to Dai, the comedy series will offer up unique perspectives on love and marriage, debating a different marriage issue inspired by true events on each episode

"This style genre has become hugely popular lately with hit shows like 'Louie' on HBO and 'The Jim Gaffigan Show' on CBS. I have always been a fan of Mr. Gilliard's work. We developed a professional relationship in 2012, and I believe his effortless sense of humor and down to earth story telling will create a new hit for people who have been or are going through these issues," says Dai.

"Mr. Gilliard himself is a dedicated Christian believer… Therefore we have also contacted faith TV network affiliates for the development of the show, with production scheduled to begin on March 8 2016. "

What separates Dai from most other producers working in the film industry today is the fact that she is able to effectively liaise between Chinese and American film productions with a keen understanding of what makes a film captivating for international audiences.

About what leads her to pick one project over another, Dai admits, "I have a strong feeling when someone really needs me, for example, in 2013 I helped produce a project for LA tourism that was geared towards the Chinese consumer to help boost Los Angeles tourism in the future. The project was in need of a Chinese-speaking producer who knew the market in China to guide them through, and that was where I found myself being the most helpful to the project. When the need is great and you can help, the motivation is strong."

Aside from her experience producing works across cultures, Dai is also an incredibly skilled filmmaker herself, something that allows her to predict exactly what her creative team will need in order to deliver an award-winning project. In fact, in addition to producing the films "Meeting Gary" and "Eat a Hot Dumpling Slowly," Dai wrote and directed both projects as well.

"Meeting Gary," which revolved around childhood neglect in the ghetto from the perspective a young boy whose dreams of becoming a professional dancer are sadly ignored by his overworked parents, was chosen as an Official Selection of the 23rd Arizona International Film Festival, the Langston Hughes African American Film Festival, the Action On Film International Festival, the New York Los Angeles International Film Festival, the Juneteenth Art & Film Festival Teen and the 16th San Francisco Black Film Festival where it was nominated for Best Short Film. The film was also chosen as an Official Selection of the Texas Black Film Festival where it was nominated for Best Short Film and a Best Actor Award.

Dai's reputation as a producer and multitalented filmmaking genius has led her to work with some of the largest production companies across continents including China International Television Corporation (CITVC), King's Film, WIN China, Footprint Worldwide, and others.

Over the next few years Dai will be working with Gilliard Media Group, the production company behind the upcoming series "Twice Married Brother," and Duke Media Foundation. She also recently began producing the documentary film "Wake Up With Me" with InterMix Productions. Directed by Momo Lee Aoi ("Von," "Mushroom," "Icebox"), "Wake Up With Me" follows a group of New Yorkers searching for meaningful human connections with the aim of bringing viewers to question whether social media is an advantageous tool in this pursuit or a hindrance.

Dai says, "Part of 'Wake Up With Me' is already in post production, however we still need to follow two of the cast members back to Asia where they originally came from to wrap up their story. The audience should be able to see the documentary by Summer 2018."

With many new projects on the horizon and several others already under way, audiences can rest assured that we will be seeing a whole lot more from producer Min Dai for years to come.
