Experts underscore Morocco’s leadership role in Africa
On the occasion of the current visit of HM King Mohammed VI to Dakar , Senegal , first leg of an African tour that will take the sovereign to Guinea Bissau, Côte d’Ivoire, and Gabon, the Argentinian academic Carlos Adalberto Agozino welcomed the efforts made by Morocco, under the leadership of HM the King, to strengthen South-South cooperation through the implementation of development projects in several African countries.
”The new African tour of HM King Mohammed VI shows the great importance and interest of the Sovereign to the consolidation of cooperation with the countries of Africa, as part of South-South cooperation,” stated Carlos Adalberto Agozino to the Moroccan press.
According to Carlos Adalberto Agozino, Morocco plays a leading role in its regional space, is considered a balancing power in the North African region, because of its political and economic stability, adding that the Kingdom can thus contribute effectively to the development of neighboring and African countries.
For his part, Senegal’s Foreign Minsiter Mankeur Ndiaye recognized in a press statement that the autonomy initiative put forward by Morocco as a lasting solution to the Sahara issue demonstrates “good will”.
Reaffirming Senegal’s “unwavering” support for Morocco’s territorial integrity, Ndiaye said that Morocco’s autonomy proposal mirrors a willingness to resolve the issue by granting large autonomy to the southern provinces under Moroccan sovereignty.
