Hey, Young World, Asia Nicole is Singing for You

ATLANTA, GEORGIA, UNITED STATES, March 2, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Asia Nicole Powell was born to sing. The music industry is a tough one to break into, even for someone as talented as she is, and she knows what it means to have to work hard to make a dream come true. So she’s calling on crowdfunding support to raise money so that she can pay for the studio time she needs to record an EP containing five songs.

Born in Florida, where she began performing for her family at the age of six, the young artist moved to Georgia and connected to the music scene. It didn’t take long for her to get noticed after deciding, in February of 2012, that music was her destiny; in December of the same year, she won the Atlanta’s Hottest Future Superstar under 18 Award. The awards kept coming her way: the King Ryan Music Showcase in 2013, where she was the only teen artist; and the 2014 CMM Award for Best Pop Artist of the Year.

Her crowdfunding campaign needs to raise $2500 by March 25 so that she can meet the recording studio budget for the five songs she’ll be singing on her EP. Her performing income has provided some of the financial support, and now she’s reaching out to the Kickstarter community for the rest, so that songs like No Good and Party Tonight can be shared with an audience that will enjoy her sound. Currently in the studio now, she has expanded her range, and is now writing songs as well as singing them. Her first single, Turn Up, was released in July, 2014.

As Asia describes it, “I’m in a good place right now.” She’s performing both in and out of Atlanta, she has two singles, she’s just won yet another award, and she had the opportunity to perform at the Atlanta 2015 Peach Drop on New Year’s Eve.

She’s constantly working to perfect her sound and style, inspired by artists such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Christina Aguilera. Asia has performed at the Hard Rock Café, the Georgia Convention Center, and the Cobb Galleria. The singer’s upbeat personality and musical talent make her a crowd favorite, and she’s often asked to perform at teen conferences.
But she also finds time to lend her musical talent to causes that inspire her. It stems from her ability to use her innate ability to entertain as a vehicle to inspire and empower others. In the pursuit of her dreams, she knows what it means to encounter setbacks, or, as she views it, “Everyone hits a pothole on the road to destiny; you have to stay positive when those potholes and bumps come.”

She lends her time and tunes to a variety of causes, including The Battle Organization to help raise funds for kids suffering from cancer; Breaking the Chain, which provides services for girls ages 12-18, and anti-bullying. Schools and other organizations that focus on helping kids request her to sing Hey, Young World when she performs because her message empowers a young audience in need of positive role models.

Asia Nicole has a solid fan base, the support of her mother and father, the strength of her faith, and a willingness to sacrifice in order to make her dreams come true. What she needs now is the support of crowdfunding backers who will recognize and reward the talent and drive of a young woman who refuses to give up on her dreams. Her success can send a message to other young people, affirming that dreams are worth believing in.
