Geronimo Energy Launches Rosemount Community Solar Garden
January 2015 - Geronimo Energy announces launch of Rosemount Community Solar Garden in Dakota County, MN. The 160-acre facility is expected to produce 36,693,657 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually, which would reduce approximately 25,305 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per year. As part of Xcel Energy's Community Solar Garden program, Xcel customers can purchase a subscription to a solar garden in exchange for a credit on their monthly Xcel bill. The program is designed to allow businesses and residents to have better accesses to solar energy and provide long-term savings on customers' energy costs. Construction of the Rosemount Community Garden will begin in the summer of 2015, and the project is anticipated to be operational by the fall of the same year.
