FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — December 18, 2014 — Frankfort, IN. — Frankfort -based Zachary Confections, Inc. announced today a nationwide voluntary recall of one lot of Market Pantry Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds, sold exclusively at Target Stores, because they include peanuts which are not declared on the label.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. No allergic reactions or illnesses have been reported to Zachary to date.
Included in the recall are:
Market Pantry Brand Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds
9 oz., UPC 085239555644 The recalled lot code is: R4112D Best Before Date: 7/4/2015
The lot code and Best Before Date are on the back of the package below the Nutrition Facts box and above and to the right of the UPC Code.
No other Market Pantry candy items are included in the recall.
The safety and quality of Zachary Confections, Inc. products are of utmost importance to the company. Consumers with peanut allergies are advised not to consume these items. The product may be returned to Target for a refund or they may call Target Guest Relations at 1-800-440-0680.
