Hunt Transportation Applies New HOS Rules to Flatbed Truck Driving Jobs
OMAHA, NE, USA, August 21, 2013 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) implemented new hours of service (HOS) rules that have a profound effect on flatbed truck driving jobs. These new rules mandate how often a driver can reset their hours, and mandatory rest breaks.
Specifically the rules state:
A driver may reset their 70 hours with a 34-hour restart, with the off-duty time covering two periods of 1a-5a, and this can only be done once per week.
A driver may drive only if 8 hours or fewer have passed since the end of their last off-duty or sleeper berth period of at least 30 minutes.
“The new regulations are to ensure the safety of drivers, and the vehicles on the road encountered by the driver. While they are more strict, we support the desire to make safety the most important issue,” says Hunt management.
Hunt Transportation seeks to provide the safest possible flatbed truck driving jobs in the industry. All Hunt drivers are closely monitored to ensure they are following the FMCSA standards and regulations. By ensuring that drivers are trained in these regulations Hunt is confident their excellent record of safety will continue.
