8 MW Solar Array Installed at Mercer County Community College

Construction of the 8 MW solar array at Mercer County Community College, New Jersey, is nearing completion. The array will generate nearly 70% of the power needed to run the campus and will be net-metered. The project was funded by SunLight General Capital, and the college has entered into a 15 year lease with SunLight to purchase the generated electricity at a rate of 3 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh). The agreement will allow the college to save money in the coming years as it leaves behind its current utility rate of 14 cents per kWh.
