  • Duncan Ende and Bruno Junqueira dominated the 1.5-mile road course to win the team’s first race in the Prototype Challenge presented by Continental Tire Series.

Lakeville, Conn. – July 6, 2013.  The No. 9 RSR Racing ORECA FLM09 captured its first win of the Prototype Challenge (PC) presented by Continental Tire Series Saturday at Lime Rock Park.  Following a weekend of ups and downs, Bruno Junqueira held off Colin Braun in the No. 05 CORE autosport ORECA FLM09 in a four minute dash to the finish.  With a slightly new Continental Tire race compound, Junqueira and co-driver Duncan Ende had the confidence they needed to take the checkered flag in extreme weather conditions.

"When you have a race that is as hot and humid as today, you have to look after the tires a little bit," said Ende following the race. "Lime Rock is brutal on the left front but I was able to push the Continental tires really hard during each of my stints and they held up really well. The RSR Racing guys did a great job to set up our car to make maximum use of the tires which helped us get the win."

The RSR Racing team was a part of a couple incidents during the race weekend, including one in Saturday’s early morning warm-up session.

“I screwed up yesterday and crashed, it didn’t do us any favors,” Ende said.  “Then the guys put everything back together and Bruno put it on the front row.  Then in the morning we got into the wrong place and we had to put it back together again.  The team did a great job giving me a great car – in fact the best car I’ve ever driven.”

The duo of Ende and Junqueira dominated the race until a late-race caution bunched up the field and put pole-sitter Braun within striking distance of Junqueira.  With lapped traffic and time running out, Braun was not able to catch Junqueira who crossed the line .905 seconds ahead of Braun and teammate Jon Bennett who finished second.  The podium was rounded out by Tristan Nunez and Ryan Booth in the No. 18 Performance Tech Motorsports VisitFlorida.com/Ric Man/Signature MSAP ORECA FLM09 in third.

ALMS returns to the track on July 21, 2013 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada.  Fans can catch live coverage on ESPN2 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
