Media Advisory - Commission on National Energy Efficiency Policy

NREL Director Dan Arvizu will discuss how increased energy efficiency can benefit the nation when the Commission on National Energy Efficiency Policy releases its recommendations Thursday, Feb. 7 in events at the National Press Club and the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
Arvizu will join Sen. Mark Warner, D-Va., Tom King, President, National Grid USA, Kateri Callahan, President, Alliance to Save Energy, George Pataki, former Governor of New York, and other Commissioners in the announcements. For the past year, Director Arvizu has served on the Commission, a collection of energy experts empaneled by the Alliance to Save Energy.
On Thursday, the Commission on National Energy Efficiency Policy will spell out a series of innovative recommendations that could, if enacted, allow the United States to double its energy productivity by 2030. The Commission recommends efforts to modernize buildings and equipment to spur energy efficiency, invest in new technologies that will produce energy savings in homes and businesses, while at the same time stimulating the economy and creating good jobs for Americans.
