Sherman Oaks Dentist Treats Kids/Parents with Halloween Exams and Candy Buyback

With Halloween eminent, and the Holidays just around the corner, Green Dental & Orthodontics will be unveiling its second annual Halloween Candy Buyback program. In addition, the doctors at Green Dental & Orthodontics will provide post-Halloween exams for $38. These exams will include teeth cleanings and whitening, Digital X-Rays and a dental checkup.
"We had a lot of success with last year's program," said a dentist in Sherman Oaks, CA from Green Dental. "We're hoping to make it an annual event. Last year we included initial consultations for children with potential dental issues as part of the program. This year we'll offer low priced exam deals for kids after Halloween. This way, they can have their fun on Halloween night and get back to their all-important dental habits come November, through the Holidays, and into the New Year."
As with last year, the staff at Green Dental will be accepting unused, unopened bags of candy during the month of October until November 1st. The staff will give parents $1 per pound of candy they bring in. Green Dental notes that the program is a great way to help parents monitor children's dietary habits and make sure they don't eat too much candy and sweets, which can harm their total health, not to mention their dental health.
These efforts are being done by Green Dental in celebration of National Dental Hygiene Month, which just so happens to fall in October every year - the same month that hosts Halloween. It's no accident that National Dental Hygiene Month happens at the same time most parents' children are thinking about how much candy they are going to eat.
"If we didn't provide these programs at this time of year, dental decay would be much more prevalent in our community than it is now," said another dentist at Green Dental. "We're proud to continue the tradition of National Dental Hygiene Month and we'll always do our part in the ongoing war against tooth decay in children."
Green Dental also helps children prevent against tooth decay by recommending certain children be fitted with sealants, thin coverings that bond to the chewing surfaces of teeth and provide an extra layer of tooth decay protection. Most dentists also recommend children receive adequate fluoride from drinking water or other sources to help prevent decay.
