Cincinnati – A man involved in a custody battle who was accused of threatening a judge hearing his case received 18 months in jail after being convicted of communicating threats. As reported by The Wall Street Journal, the man, Franklin Delano Jeffries II, 38, recorded the song “Daughter’s Love,” which contained lyrics such as “Take my child and I’ll take your life” and uploaded it online.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati recently upheld Jeffries’ conviction with Judge Jeffrey Sutton writing in the court’s opinion, “The threats are many, and a jury reasonably could take them as real.”
An attorney for Jeffries, Jonathan Harwell, is quoted in the report as stating of the matter, “He was essentially venting his opinions and never dreamed this message would get back to the judge.”
