Cyphort™, Inc. (www.cyphort.com), an innovator in cyber security, today announced that it has recruited one of the industry’s renowned security experts. Dr. Fengmin Gong joins Cyphort as chief architect. This addition reinforces the company’s technical leadership and makes Cyphort one of the hottest start-ups of 2012. In his new role, Chief Architect Fengmin Gong will lead the future design and implementation of Cyphort’s network and cloud-based technology initiatives.
“Cyphort is attracting the most innovative talent in the security industry,” said Cyphort CEO David Tripier. “With the addition of Dr. Fengmin Gong, Cyphort now boasts one of the most experienced management teams in the security industry today. We cannot be more pleased that Fengmin has joined our company.”
Dr. Gong brings 25-plus years of security expertise to Cyphort. Most recently, Gong was chief security content officer at FireEye leading its threat research and intelligence initiatives. Before FireEye, Gong was the founder and chief scientist at Palo Alto Networks where he built the team that was responsible for threat research, content-based detection, and security content creation. Before Palo Alto Networks, Gong was the chief scientist and director of Intrusion Detection Technologies at McAfee where he led the research and development program supporting the IntruShield line of IPS products.
“I am excited to join the world-class team at Cyphort at a time of tremendous growth and demand for its unique solution,” said Fengmin Gong. “The headlines about advanced persistent threats (APTs), whether it’s the RSA break-in related to SecurID or any other known APT attack, is sounding loud and strong alarms in the executive suite. Cyphort has created the right cyber-security solution in the perfect storm.”
About Cyphort, Inc.
Cyphort develops cloud services, software, and appliance-based solutions to protect enterprises and government agencies against the newest breed of sophisticated cyber threats—advanced persistent threats (APTs). Today’s well-funded organizations and sophisticated attackers perform persistent malware attacks that by-pass current signature-based security solutions (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems/intrusion prevention systems (IDSs/IPSs), and anti-virus software). These targeted and sophisticated attacks aim to steal invaluable intellectual property and financial data, as well as perform damaging corporate espionage.
Built from the ground up, Cyphort’s new approach to detect “Zero Day” attacks leverages its patent-pending technology to find suspected objects and predict their real intentions. Through predictive correlated analysis, Cyphort provides a revolutionary solution that detects a malicious process before it causes damage. Cyphort is a privately-held company headquartered in San Jose, California, USA. For more information, please visit: www.Cyphort.com.
