Child dies after being hit by falling tombstone

Utah – A young child died after being hit by a falling tombstone at a historic cemetery in Utah last week. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), 4-year-old Carson Dean Cheney was hit by the large headstone after it detached from its base, while he was with his family during a visit to the cemetery, which was about an hour away from their hometown.
The young boy was taken to Park City Medical Center after sustaining multiple injuries. He died shortly thereafter.
Geri Gibbs, the child’s grandmother, is quoted by the AP as stating of the incident, “There's still so much disbelief and sorrow and anguish… We just keep waiting for the door to open up and Carson to come through, a happy little boy.”
