How can urbanization be managed sustainably, especially in rapidly urbanizing countries in the world? Can national urban assessments and strategic systems planning be effective instruments to guide balanced, land and resource efficient, low-carbon, green, climate-resilient, inclusive, and competitive urban development? This event aims to learn from urban practitioners and government officials on the ways cities, regional and national governments have made headway into addressing the complexity of urban issues through multi-sector and cross thematic assessment, planning and institutional mechanisms. The sessions will feature case studies in India, Malaysia, Georgia, Tajikistan, Philippines, Uzbekistan, Armenia.
