Brighton Eye Associates Offers Hi-Tech OCT Instrument for Eye Examination
BRIGHTON, Colo., March 19, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Brighton Eye Associates is pleased to announce to the community the introduction of the High Definition CIRRUS HD-OCT technology as part of an enhanced eye examination. The Ocular Coherence Tomography or OCT provides a microscopic 3-D evaluation of the eye. Especially important is its use for macular degeneration and for glaucoma. It is also valuable for other eye conditions including diabetes and high blood pressure. Doctors are able to see the difference between wet macular degeneration and dry macular degeneration.
Glaucoma is usually seen in people over the age of 40. People do not know they have glaucoma because it has no symptoms. Early detection, monitoring, and treatment slows the progress of glaucoma. The new High Definition CIRRUS HD-OCT instrument allows for a 3D examination of the eye and much earlier diagnosis of glaucoma.
“We are excited to offer the new HD OCT instrument to our patients,” said Dr. Rodney D. Fair, OD. “Dr. Baker, Dr. Sanchez and I are always looking for better ways to serve the vision needs of our patients and this instrument is the latest addition to our state-of-the-art technology used to help our patients at Brighton Eye Associates.”
