CodaPet Announces Formation of Advisory Council to Empower Veterinarians and Guide National Growth
CodaPet, a veterinarian-owned technology company that supports a nationwide network of veterinarians who provide peaceful in-home pet euthanasia, is excited to announce the formation of its Advisory Council, comprised of esteemed members Michael Q. Bailey, DVM, DACVR, George Robinson, DVM, MSPH, and Phil Kimmey, co-founder of Rover. The Council will be instrumental in guiding CodaPet as it works to empower veterinarians with greater career flexibility and economic opportunity—while extending compassionate end-of-life care.
In classical music, the “coda” is a unique closing passage that brings a composition to its final resolution. Though each coda is distinct, its purpose is universal: to bring meaning and peace to the piece’s final moments. CodaPet’s vision is no different. It was founded in 2022 by three veterinarians who share the desire to make in-home pet euthanasia accessible and tranquil for more families in the United States. Additionally, CodaPet aims to create opportunities for veterinary professionals that are personally and professionally lucrative through various options including full-time, part-time, and freelance work.
Dr. Michael Bailey has made substantial contributions to veterinary medical literature. In addition to academia, Dr. Bailey pioneered Ohio’s first veterinary private practice advanced CT imaging services. He continues to be actively involved in organized volunteer veterinary leadership roles at both state and national levels.
“I am excited about the potential impact CodaPet can have on the veterinary community, shared Dr. George Robinson, a CodaPet investor and shareholder. “By providing flexible work options and focusing on economic empowerment for veterinarians, we are enhancing veterinarians’ careers and personal lives across the country, while helping families during a very difficult time.”
The inclusion of Phil Kimmey adds further depth to the council’s expertise. As co-founder of Rover, Kimmey brings valuable insights into technology-driven solutions that enhance service delivery in pet care.
“We are honored to bring together such a distinguished group of animal health professionals who share our vision for bringing peace to all pets and their families,” said Karen Whala, DVM, co-founder of CodaPet. “Our Advisory Council will play a crucial role in shaping our strategies as we expand our reach and enhance our offerings.”
With guidance from the Advisory Council, CodaPet is focused on accelerating its national expansion. In just 24 months, the company has grown from serving one city to over 90 communities and expects to add more than 100 veterinarians to its network in 2025.
