CHAOS Industries Names George J. Tenet as Executive Chairman
CHAOS Industries, a technology company building the next generation of defense and national security systems, today announced the appointment of former Director of Central Intelligence George J. Tenet as Executive Chairman of the company.
As Executive Chairman, Mr. Tenet will lead the board’s activities, provide strategic guidance, and ensure strong governance as the company continues its rapid growth trajectory.
Mr. Tenet has been at the forefront of American national security throughout his distinguished career. He served at the Central Intelligence Agency for nine years, including seven years as Director of Central Intelligence and two years as Deputy Director of Central Intelligence. His term as director was the first in nearly three decades to span presidents of different political parties.
In December 2004, President George W. Bush awarded Mr. Tenet the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the U.S. government’s highest civilian honor.
Following his career in public service, Mr. Tenet spent 17 years at Allen & Company LLC, a privately held investment bank in New York. For 12 of those years, he served as Chairman of the company.
CHAOS Industries was founded in 2022 by John Tenet (Epirus and 8VC), Dr. Bo Marr (Epirus and Raytheon), Gavin Hood (Palantir and UK Secret Intelligence Service), and Brett Cummings (8VC and Formation 8).
“I am excited to bring what I’ve learned at Allen & Company and as a public servant to bear in helping a great team at CHAOS Industries achieve its aspirations,” said George Tenet. “We are at an important inflection point, where our country must accelerate the adoption of the deep technological innovations CHAOS Industries is producing to protect our national security. I am honored to join such an outstanding mission-driven team.”
“George’s experience is truly second to none and we are honored to have him join our board at this critical time for our company and our country,” said CHAOS Industries Co-Founder and Co-CEO Dr. Bo Marr. “We look forward to calling on George’s national security expertise, business acumen, and unparalleled leadership as we move our company forward to safeguard America’s interests.”
Today, CHAOS Industries has a team of 100 professionals focused on delivering advanced detection, monitoring, and communication solutions to the defense, government, and commercial sectors.
