Since joining CORT in 2019 as Vice President, Business Strategy, J.T. has been a driving force behind key strategic initiatives in transportation, logistics, and supply chain management. His promotion to Corporate Vice President in 2021 expanded his responsibilities to include housewares, product development, freight, logistics, real estate, and contract management. His leadership has played a crucial role in improving efficiency, consistency, and profitability across these areas.

“I’m honored to step into this role and continue working alongside such a talented team,” said J.T. Marcum. “At CORT, our ability to adapt and continuously improve is what sets us apart. Whether it’s refining our supply chain, optimizing logistics, or developing new products, everything we do is about delivering better, smarter solutions for our clients. I’m excited to continue that work and build on the momentum we’ve created.”

J.T. is known for his commitment to continuous improvement and his ability to develop high-performing, cohesive teams. A dedicated LEAN Manufacturing practitioner, he applies efficiency-driven principles to streamline operations while keeping a customer-first focus. In 2023, he earned his Certificate in Production and Inventory Planning (CPIM) from the Association of Supply Chain Management Professionals, reinforcing his technical expertise and leadership in supply chain optimization.

“J.T. has a rare ability to take on complex challenges and break them down into clear, actionable solutions,” said Paula Newell, Chief Operating Officer. “His leadership in supply chain and logistics has made a measurable impact—helping us improve processes, reduce inefficiencies, and strengthen our ability to serve clients. This promotion is well-earned, and I’m excited to see how he continues to drive CORT forward.”

J.T. is a graduate of Ball State University and an active alumni volunteer for Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He resides in Brambleton, VA, with his wife of 18 years, Kristin, and their dog, Brodie. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, exploring Northern Virginia’s wine country, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

With this promotion, J.T. will now report directly to Paula Newell, Chief Operating Officer. His leadership will continue to shape CORT’s operational and supply chain strategy, ensuring the company remains flexible, efficient, and customer-focused.
