Midwest Airlines Rebranded to Frontier
April 14, 2010 - Republic Airways Holdings Inc., the owner of both Frontier and Midwest Airlines, has chosen to scrap the Midwest brand and use the Frontier name as the public face of the merged airline group.
In addition to the rebranding of Midwest, based in Milwaukee, Republic will also merge the frequent-flier programs of Midwest and Frontier.
In October, Republic had said it would keep both the Midwest and Frontier brands, but Republic CEO Bryan Bedford told the AP that the company was finding that strategy to not be cost effective.
