December 18, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Nanometrics Inc. (NASDAQ: NANO) has priced an underwritten public offering of 2.025 million shares of its common stock at $11.00 per share. Vincent J. Coates, the company’s founder, is selling 675,000 shares of common stock at $11 per share as part of the same offering.

Piper Jaffray & Co. (NYSE: PJC) is acting as the sole book running manager of the offering.

In connection with the offering, the company and Coates have also granted the underwriters a 30-day over-allotment option to purchase up to an additional 303,750 and 101,250 shares of common stock from the company and Coates, respectively.

The closing of the offering is scheduled to take place on or about December 22.
