December 2, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Gerber Scientific, Inc. (NYSE: GRB) has acquired Yunique Solutions Inc., a privately-held developer of product lifecycle management software solutions for the fashion industry.

According to Gerber, the transaction combines Gerber’s position in CAD/CAM and PLM solutions and support with Yunique’s advanced PLM software platform.

Gerber said it expects the acquisition to be accretive to earnings beginning with the company’s fiscal fourth quarter 2010. Terms were not disclosed.

New York-based Yunique Solutions is a developer of web browser-based product lifecycle management and supplier relationship management solutions designed to enable apparel, textiles, and accessories retailers, brands, and manufacturers to speed more trend-setting merchandise to market by improving collaboration across their entire supply chains.

Connecticut-based Gerber Scientific is a supplier of sophisticated automated manufacturing systems and software for sign making, specialty graphics and packaging, apparel and flexible materials, and ophthalmic lens processing industries.
