TiE Detroit Announces Governor Rick Snyder as Grand Keynote Speaker for TiECon Midwest 2016

Governor Rick Snyder, Governor of Michigan and cofounder of Ann Arbor Spark will be Grand Keynote Speaker at Ignite2Disrupt.

FARMINGTON HILLS , MICHIGAN, U.S., September 23, 2016 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Detroit chapter of TiE, largest non-profit entrepreneurial organization, announced Gov. Rick Snyder as the grand keynote speaker for TiECon Midwest 2016, Michigan’s largest conference to be held October 27 and 28, 2016 at The Henry, Dearborn. The announcement was made by TiE Detroit President, Tel Ganesan.

“Gov. Snyder is the man instrumental in leading Michigan’s successful comeback. Since Snyder took office, Michigan has created more than 450,000 private sector jobs. We’re very fortunate to have Governor Rick Snyder address the entrepreneurial community of TiECon Midwest 2016 right here in Deaborn. He was involved with TiE and talked on the new era of innovation in Michigan during TiECon Midwest 2009.”, said Tel Ganesan, President TiE Detroit.

As Michigan’s 48th Governor, Rick Snyder has implemented a commonsense approach to governing focusing on working together to find solutions for the state’s toughest problems. A self-proclaimed “one tough nerd,” Governor Snyder has focused on making government more efficient and effective. Since he took office, the state has passed six balanced budgets early eliminating a $1.5 billion deficit and reformed burdensome tax and regulatory codes that were stifling business growth and job creation. He successfully implemented Healthy Michigan, an innovative and bipartisan plan providing affordable, quality healthcare for more than 500,000 hard-working Michiganders. With his unwavering commitment, Detroit has emerged bankruptcy as one of the great comeback stories in American history. The Governor’s “Relentless Positive Action” has brought solutions to pressing problems and renewed optimism in Michigan’s future.

Snyder graduated from the University of Michigan and joined accounting firm PwC (formerly Coopers & Lybrand). Following a successful career as partner at Coopers & Lybrand, Snyder joined Gateway as President and COO. He later returned to Michigan, cofounding Ann Arbor Spark.

In accepting the invitation to be the grand keynote speaker, Gov. Rick Snyder said, “As residents of the automotive capital of the world, talented and creative Michiganders are working to ensure that we become a global leader in mobility. Mobility is a critical concept that will impact the world, and innovative and creative minds in Michigan will ensure that our state leads the way in making it all a reality.”
