Radius5 is now available at the Google Play and Apple stores. The mobile application aims to connect people who want to network within a local 5 mile radius.

Radius5 offers users a mobile platform to connect with others who are within a 5 mile radius of each other. The Raduis5 app is currently available on the Google Play and Apple stores in Beta version for no charge.

“Think of it as a big chat room.” Kumar Patel, a founding member of Radius5 remarks, “A chat room with you at the center and extending 5 miles in every direction.”

Radius5 is currently in Beta and hopes to de-bug issues as new users discover its features. It is simple to use, just open the app and you can instantly communicate with everyone or a specific person in your area. You can also check-in at local businesses and connect with others “inside” of the business.

“Radius5 is perfect for a person traveling into a new city,” Kumar Patel continues, “Maybe you want to meet and network with someone at a restaurant or special event like a concert. Radius5 will let you communicate freely with others open to these interactions.”

The application is not currently monetized and will not carry ads in its current version. “We want to see how our users interact with Radius5 and decide later about monetizing it. Another feature users concerned with privacy will enjoy is its self-wiping memory. All text and pictures will be gone forever form the main text area on a rolling hour basis,” finished Patel.
