WPGC's Tati On Your Radio Joins Arnold Place Community Day To Help Open A New Transitional Home For Homeless Teen Girls

Clean out your closet and join Arnold Place! Donations of old clothes and old pairs of shoes help open a new transitional home for homeless teenage girls.

The community is urged to donate old clothes and shoes to help open a new HIV-focused safe-haven in Prince George's County, 2015, for homeless pregnant teens.

I chose this fundraiser to show my new nonprofit worthy of future monetary donations. Though, first, I wanted to put forth my very best effort. This campaign shows waste can become something great!"

LARGO, MD, USA, September 21, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- WPGC (http://wpgc.cbslocal.com) joins Arnold Place, Inc. (http://www.arnoldplace.org) for a Community Day of Empowerment on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. ET on the parking lot of Temple of Praise Church (http://thetempleofpraise.org) at 700 Southern Avenue, S.E., Washington, D.C. 20032 where Glen A. Staples is Bishop. WPGC Radio Personality “Tati On Your Radio” of The Joe Clair Morning Show will host. Arnold Place is a one (1) year young 501(c)(3) dedicated to the cause of homelessness for pregnant teens, troubled teenage girls, and young ladies ages 13-22 who are affected by HIV|AIDS. Arnold Place will open its first new transitional home in Prince George’s County, MD in 2015. This event encourages the community to clean out their closet and join Arnold Place in support of its efforts to open. Further, Nico Hobson, Founder and Co-CEO of GoWin Media, LLC (http://gowin.media) will bring additional awareness to this cause and event in the form of online radio and social media promotion.

The community is asked to unify in an effort to collect “One Million” pairs of unwanted shoes as well as “One Million” pounds of unwanted clothes and bring them on this day to support the opening of Arnold Place in Oxon Hill, Maryland. This campaign, titled “One Million,” is equivalent to the number of pairs of shoes and pounds of this specific waste needed to fund this project. Donations can be any size, any gender and any condition – holes, stains and broken heels are okay. This fundraiser engages the community, encourages recycling and reduces costs to open Arnold Place. More importantly, it brings awareness to the cause of homeless pregnant teens and HIV.

On this day, there will be the components of what will become Arnold Place – a master fitness professional, healthy drink samples, healthy food, on-site testing, access to community resources and information. A hairstylist will show how a wig or weave style is worn for a natural look for ladies who may be experiencing hair loss during an illness. Tracy shares, “I want it to be a fun-filled day to empower the community with resources not typically made available to them in appreciation of their support." Drive-up drop-off service will be available.

Tati, known as the “Aloha Spirit” of WPGC is a mother of three (3). Tati stated in a tweet from @TatiOnYourRadio, "I was a teen mom." In this effort, donations of unwanted clothes and pairs of shoes will be received by Tati at the corporate office of WPGC/CBS Radio at 1015 Half Street, S.E. Washington, D.C. 20003 until October 3, 2015.
