The Military Relocation Professional (MRP) Certification Is For Real Estate Professionals Who Want To Work With Current And Former Military Service Members.
I decided I wanted to become a Military Relocation Professional because I love my job and I love the Military. I'm extremely proud of my husband and my son for their service
MANAHAWKIN, NEW JERSEY, USA, September 9, 2015 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Debra “Debby” Ficke, PROUD Navy Mom and successful Realtor in the New Jersey area since 2002, obtained her Military Relocation (MRP) Certificate in 2014.— Debra A. Ficke
Born in Staten Island, New York, on January 18th 1960, to Ken and Cathy Rank, Debby enjoyed a happy, all-American family life.
Debby's father, Ken, served in the United States Marines, and her mother, Cathy, was a Pharmacy Technician for 33 years. “I am SO proud of all of my family members who chose to serve our country and especially my Mother who supported all of us in every single way possible.”
Debby says, “It's not an easy choice, especially being away from your family for such long periods of time and the ‘unknown’ situations that arise at any given moment. It is the ultimate sacrifice in myriad ways. I lost one uncle in Vietnam but had so many other family members come home to our open arms. I am beyond thankful for their service and love for our country.”
Growing up with two younger brothers, life was never dull, to be sure. Ken served in our U.S. Army and Mike owns his own roofing company. Debby also has two uncles who served in Vietnam; one came home and the other paid the ULTIMATE SACRIFICE for our freedom.
Debra’s husband, Christopher, served 6 years on the USS Shark, a nuclear Navy vessel, and currently works for a local nuclear plant in New Jersey and her father-in-law served in the U.S. Navy for over 30 years.
Their oldest son, Chris, trained in Pensacola, Florida, served 4 years in Navy Intelligence and was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Oahu, Hawaii, for 2-1/2 of those years. His wife, Amanda, also trained and served alongside Chris for those 4 years. Their younger son, Erik, and his twin sister, Nicole, completes their beautiful family.
Debby graduated from Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin, New Jersey, and worked for a nuclear plant for 12 years as the Secretary for the Manager of Maintenance. She managed her own Cleaning Business for over 18 years, servicing rental properties, businesses, and privately owned homes. Debby says, “I wanted to become a Realtor because I had owned and operated my own business for over 18 years. It was great while our children were younger but it was time for a change. I had worked for many people who had big, beautiful homes on Long Beach Island.”
This realization was life-changing for Debby, as she recalls that day. “I said to my husband ‘I would love to sell some of those big beautiful homes rather than cleaning them’. Christopher said ‘Then why don't you do it? Sign up and take the course.’ That is exactly what I needed to hear. I got out of the pool, signed into a Real Estate school and registered. I took a two week cram course and passed the test successfully the first time, and my career literally took off like wildfire!”
As a Realtor Sales Associate since 2002, Debby has won many awards and recognition over the years. She became a Broker Associate in August of 2011 and was elated when the National Association of REALTORS® offered the MRP Certification.
Reflecting on this wonderful addition to her stellar career, Debby says, “I decided I wanted to become a Military Relocation Professional because I love my job and I love the Military. I'm extremely proud of my husband and my son for their service, along with all the other men and women serving in our Military. I thought about how much I would love to help Military people find the homes of their dreams. Right off the bat, the MRP course helped me to help my son and daughter-in-law find a different home in Hawaii when they were stationed there. I saw the name of the Agent in the material we received during my class - who was an active Realtor in the area where my son was looking to live - and Chris called that Agent and he found them something immediately.”
Debby is a devout Christian and has been married to her best friend, Christopher, for 25 years. One of their favorite things to do is to Kayak; and they both call the Barnegat Lighthouse, “Our Happy Place!”
An avid animal lover, Debby helps with the rescue and placement of pets, whenever and wherever possible. She is particularly supportive of the wonderful organization called "Popcorn Park", which is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused and elderly animals.
What Debby shares next is priceless: “We are huge Country Music lovers, having gone to dozens of country music concerts where we have met several country music Superstars. My husband was actually pulled up on stage by Toby Keith during Toby's tribute to the U.S. Military. That was a moment that Chris and I will never, ever forget!”
Plans for a move to Southern Florida are on the table for Debby and Christopher. She will be looking to split her time working in both areas of the East Coast and helping Military families - on all possible levels - to find the comfort and peace of mind that owning a home brings to those who are serving and those who have served in the United States Military.
