Shingles Can Cause Severe Headaches; The CBCD Reviews the Medical Evidence
“Early symptoms of shingles include headache, sensitivity to light, and flu-like symptoms without a fever.” (1)
Although, there is a possibility that recurring shingles may lead to migraine, the severe pain in the initial stage is not yet migraine, it is a symptom of shingles.

“Infected with the varicella zoster virus (VZV), which causes shingles? The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) recommends taking Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin.” - Greg Bennett, CBCD
Headaches can be caused by many different things. The Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) can be a cause. Herpes Zoster (HZ), commonly called shingles, is a distinctive syndrome caused by reactivation of varicella zoster virus (VZV), which also causes chickenpox. VZV is a herpes virus. When it causes headaches, those headaches can be severe.
The Mayo Clinic notes that “pain is usually the first symptom of shingles. For some, it can be intense.” (2) PharmacyTimes.com goes further, stating that “The first, or prodromal, phase is characterized by symptoms of headache, pain, malaise, and photophobia.” (3) The prodromal stage of a shingles outbreak is the phase before recognizable shingles symptoms develop, such as a rash of blisters.
The Center for the Biology of Chronic Disease (CBCD) recommends that individuals who have ever had chickenpox take Gene-Eden-VIR or Novirin. The formula of these natural antiviral products was shown to reduce symptoms associated with herpes viruses.

The Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin formula was tested by Hanan Polansky and Edan Itzkovitz from the CBCD in two clinical studies that followed FDA guidelines. The studies showed that the formula is effective against the herpes family of viruses. Varicella Zoster is a member of the herpes family. The clinical studies were published in the peer reviewed, medical journal Pharmacology & Pharmacy, the first, in a special edition on Advances in Antiviral Drugs. Study authors wrote that, “individuals infected with the (herpes viruses) … reported a safe decrease in their symptoms following treatment with Gene-Eden-VIR.” (4) The study authors also wrote that, “we observed a statistically significant decrease in the severity, duration, and frequency of symptoms.” (4)

Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are natural antiviral dietary supplements. Their formula contains five natural ingredients: Selenium, Camellia Sinesis Extract, Quercetin, Cinnamomum Extract, and Licorice Extract. The first ingredient is a trace element, and the other four are plant extracts. Each ingredient and its dose was chosen through a scientific approach. Scientists at polyDNA, the company that invented and patented the formula, scanned thousands of scientific and medical papers published in various medical and scientific journals, and identified the safest and most effective natural ingredients against latent viruses. To date, Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are the only natural antiviral product on the market with a formula published clinical studies that support its claims.
Note: Novirin has the same formula as Gene-Eden-VIR. However, it contains higher quality and more expensive ingredients.
It should be noted that a headache due to reactivation of the varicella zoster virus can sometimes be mistaken for a migraine. However, “Although, there is a possibility that recurring shingles may lead to migraine, the severe pain in the initial stage is not yet migraine, it is a symptom of shingles.” (5)
The CDC notes that the varicella zoster virus (VZV), which is a herpes virus, causes both chickenpox and shingles. “After a person recovers from chickenpox, the virus stays dormant (inactive) in the body. For reasons that are not fully known, the virus can reactivate years later, causing shingles.” (6) Additionally, the CDC adds that “almost 1 out of every 3 people in the United States will develop shingles, also known as zoster or herpes zoster, in their lifetime. There are an estimated 1 million cases of shingles each year in this country. Anyone who has recovered from chickenpox may develop shingles; even children can get shingles. However the risk of shingles increases as you get older. About half of all cases occur in men and women 60 years old or older.” (6)
Are there treatments currently on the market, which target the Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV)?
Yes there are.
Antiviral drugs, such as Zovirax or Valtrex are designed to fight the shingles virus. However, these medications, when effective, only work to shorten the time of the shingles outbreak. They are ineffective against the latent VZV virus. (6)
The CBCD reminds the public that Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are not a cure for conditions caused by the Varicella Zoster Virus. However, their formula was designed to help the immune system target the latent shingles virus.
All orders of Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are completely confidential, and no information is shared or sold to any third party. Privacy is assured.
